Nothing Should Depress You!

This is narrated by the wonderful Mufti Menk. His positive attitude is heart-warming.

Our challenge: FIRST: We must understand and relay the TRUTH.

SECOND: Despite the ensuing madness. Let us be bearers of hope, inshallah, for Muslims and non-Muslims.

Let’s do this thing! 😀

I love this. Thank you for sharing, Arif. (but then the thought that always comes back to haunt is the worry for one’s children in this day and age which a parent always has – I guess this is inescapable?)

    • Jazakallah Khairan sister Julie. I understand your worry. I often think about this. But remember: “And know that your possessions and your children are a test, and that with Allah is immense reward.” (Qur’an: Al-Anfal – 8:28)

We must rely on Allah. That is, whatever is good, whatever is bad, IS all a test by Allah to see how we react/respond. Believers of Truth/ God are (or should be) patient (persevering) when things are bad, and are (or should be) thankful when things are good. The reverse is telling: When people become despairing when things are bad, or thankless or take things for granted when things are good – are these signs of our lack of faith in Truth/ God?

Rest assured sister. We all should do what we can/must for our children, but inshallah, rely on Allah’s better plans in terms of their future’s – as this is clearly beyond our total power. And this (Duniyawy/worldly) life is not our destination. This takes a type of burden away from our shoulders. And helps to make us see clearer, calmer, and make more rational decisions.
