Poetry Face Off

Amusing! An excellent account of a battle of words after a ‘student’ sought an answer to a question from a teacher…

A ‘Poetry Face Off’ between a ‘brother of few words’ vs. Yasir Qadhi.

But make sure, anon,

You base yours on

The Love Song

This_is_not_a_love_song_by_MoonHuntress***

Dialogue Poem Set 3.13: On Love Earth n Parka Coat

Earth N Parka Coat rapped a Love Song:

***

They sing a love song
But that’s not love,
They play a love tune
But that’s not love.
We wanna be free!
I used to be a sucker for this ‘love thang’
Believin it real, ‘true lovin’ –
That’s what we’re after, they’d say,

Dialogue Poem Set 3.12: On Love

An Apology and Warning

Dear friend, I apologise

If that is how you feel.

You must not be affected so.

My words fail me.

Perhaps silence is best. Or worst.

I did not intend to offend.

Please note that I too did

Traverse the known world aforetime, Continue reading

Dialogue Poem Set 3.10: On Love ashen cloak

Ashen Cloak continued:

***

Hope i

***

Time to come down from the stars,

The celestial seas that span the two temples,

To stop reflecting upon beauty and enchantments

And instead, to face one’s ugly reality and learn;

Time to deaden this heavy heart

That once used to sing and mystify, pulsing,

Swooning into a thousand symphonies.

It could rage the oceans into war,

And stir the dawn to wake. Continue reading
