On how Identity can Mind-Lead you away from Truth

Mind-Lead from Truth

Often the ‘truth’ in what someone says (with mouth)

Is unheard (by ears),

When we see (with eyes)

The speaker is not of our own kind (with our minds, closed).

Twinkle Twinkle O Death Star

Twinkle Twinkle O Death Star,

How I wonder what you are!

Up above the world so high,

like a deity in the sky.

Twinkle Twinkle O Death Star,

How I wonder what you are!

Ache

Alone-Manrock_underground

An Ache. Always an ache.

The terrible struggle of days and aeons

And from this trembling body I gaze aghast at my terrestial hand that shakes,

Severed, in front of my face across the space,

Almost light years away in this enclosure.

But it is real. Continue reading

What are the ‘Dialogue Poems’?

I present a series that were originally conceived as independent poems.

The import of some of my earlier poems are particularly ‘dark’ in nature, I have since then found myself ‘replying’ to what I perceive to be the ‘ailment’ in them. As such, the dialogue poems consist of a ‘problematic’ (the older poems) and is followed by a (newer) ‘reply’.

The Dialogue Poems can, therefore, be read together as a set, or independently.

Your Wonderful World

This was written over ten years ago, prior to September 11th. I was surprised to read (years later) how its import is as relevant now as then – if not more so.

This is dedicated specifically to the Western citizen (who is the protagonist) and more generally to the Citizens of the world.

wonderful world

How I wonder at it all.

At the end of the Millennium,

How bravely the champion of time stands out

From the rubble that is the world, and rises from the West.

His face swept by the winds of struggles and the people watching,

The survivors, liberated by the world’s hero,

Cheering and waving the banners.

How I wonder at the sheer strength and courage.

I wonder.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his (now famous) Farewell Sermon  in the valley of Mount Arafat during the Hajj (9th March, 632 CE).

Brother Phil delivered this sermon in poetic form.

Beloved

Baraka Blue recited this beautiful poem about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is based on a passage in Imam Ghazali’s Ihya Uloom Id-deen, where the Imam describes the character of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
